Marimba Mojo Publications

All songs in all publications are arranged for Orff instrumentation.  Range and keys have been chosen to accomodate Orff xylophones - soprano, alto, bass, and sub bass bars.  

In some cases these notes are used.  However, an alternate pitch is almost always included in the score to accomodate instruments lacking those notes.

The publications are best suited for grades 4 - 8; however, each publicaton includes tips for simplifying the arangements for younger or inexperienced ensembles.  

We do not have copyright permission to share or sell digital copies of the earlier publications/arrangements. Only print versions of the publications are available at this time. However, we are moving that direction. Right now we have ready for digital purchase all arrangements in the publications Christmas Pop I & 2, Marimba Pop II, Christian Pop, and Covid-19 Suite. In addition, the publication titles Merry Marimba Christmas, Viva Marimba, Jig, and To Bach and Beyond may be purchased as digital copies from the publisher Lorenz Corp/Heritage Music Press. Please make inquiries to them regarding this process.

I recommend instruments that are not only good sounding but practical for use and are smart for storrage. Many of the Orff xylophones have a beautiful sound but are awkward to store and play. I recommend purchasing zimbabwean style marimbas that are smartly designed for classroom use, transport, and storrage.  Bourne Marimbas are my favorite for these reasons but he is usually pretty backed up with orders. A great alternative to Bourne is Hansen Marimbas. Hansen follow the basic design as Bourne with a few modifications and he does great work and is actively pursuing orders.

If using Orff instruments I recommend purchasing stands for them so children can sit on chairs or stand to play them.
